Rodica began her artistic career in Bucharest as an Abstract Surrealist. She discovered the Metaphysical works of Giorgio de Chirico, Rene Magritte and Paul Delvaux in the late 1980s, which  influenced her profoundly. She considers most of her painting today as  extensions  from these 20th Century artists, and those who have followed the same path.
